Per tradition, the 5th graders got to walk to Lippold Park for a day of fun in the sun. Parents could meet up and Sydney requested I bring some Chik-fil-a with me (which is so much bougier than eating a packed lunch). It was nice to spend some time with Sydney and her cute little friends!
For her last lunch in elementary school, Gita packed her something special. Not healthy per se, but special.
The high school was already out for the summer and honestly I think we are all feeling some nostalgia so Liesel and Ireland joined us for the clap out. We've had kids going to that elementary school for 12 years and so we are all kind of saying goodbye. Not to mention the principal is retiring so it really is the end of an era.
Some kids came out crying but not Sydney. Oh no- she burst out of those doors chock full of enthusiasm to start her next chapter.
She was surprised and delighted to see her sisters.

Not everyone matriculates to the same middle school so it was bittersweet to say goodbye to some friends.
Sydney will still have some familiar faces though!

She's taught both of my neurodivergent daughters and I could not be more grateful to her for her patience, kindness and true love of teaching!
