I've been looking forward to this season of life for, well, years to be quite honest. All of the girls are in school- the older 3 full-time and Sydney part-time. I'm no longer running around with the constant responsibilities and worries of a heavy duty calling at church. Life should be just gravy. It's funny, because as I told a good friend with kids older than mine how excited I was to finally, FINALLY have some time to myself, she warned me that my days would quickly fill up.
I didn't believe her then.
I believe her now.
Once school was in session and I began digging out from the backlog of To Do's that piled up over an epic (and I mean EPIC) summer, I thought I'd be all caught up within a week. Here it is the end of September and somehow time is still slipping through my fingers. All that extra time I thought I would carve out for myself is filling in like quicksand. In the years of having a little one clinging to my legs, I lost my calling as a project person. Now all those projects I've been aching to jump into are all around me and I'm suddenly overwhelmed.
This blog, this record of the little moments and big events of my family, is so important to me, and it has sat neglected for far too long. Maybe I'm not as on top of my To Do's as I would like, but I'm going to start recording the events of the last few months because they were precious and sometimes painful. They need to be written down and so I am dedicating myself to that endeavor.
Apologies to my precious few readers- there will be a slew of back-dated posts coming. To be fair, you've been warned!
