Dairy Farm Field Trip

This is my third field trip to the Diary farm, and by far the coldest. However, the frigid weather was really a blessing in disguise. Usually we are knocked over by the smells and this time it wasn't bad at all. Sydney is excited for any field trip, but she's especially excited when we get to ride a big yellow bus just like her big sisters.

The baby calves were so cute, and ready to lick anything in front of them.

Sydney really has an aversion to looking at the camera in a group shot.

Every now and again I can catch her attention for a good single shot...

...and she will hold still long enough for me to photograph our matching boots!

The owners are so nice! They work incredibly hard. Because someone always has to be working the farm, they've never had a family vacation. I asked if they ever feed their cows Skittles because I'd read this article. Short answer is they don't, but it was an interesting discussion about the diet of a dairy cow versus a beef cow!

Sydney was pretty proud of the sticker she earned.

The kids also got milk moustache stickers. Between regular, chocolate and strawberry, Sydney chose a strawberry moustache.

Which is pretty darn sweet!

Metra Field Trip

I don't know if you can tell whether or not Sydney was excited for her preschool field trip to the train. When they took roll on the bus and came to her name, she cried out, "That's MEEE!!!"

Here's our attempt at getting a good picture of the kids while cutting out a homeless man sleeping in the train depot.

The owner of the preschool hands out conductor hats while we ride and I have to say that Sydney looked pretty darn cute in hers.

In reality, we take a bus to the local train station, board the train and ride for a few stops and then take the bus home. It's pretty simple but the kids find it all so magical.
And I sure love seeing that sparkle in Sydney's eyes!
