January Tid Bits

Gita immediately spent her chocolate money on Lululemon.
Gita: What do you think?
Me: I feel like I just rubbed a bottle.
Gita: Huh?
Me: It's giving genie-in-a-bottle-vibes.
Ireland: It's giving Lululemon addict vibes.

Uhhhm I'm not sure how to feel about this... flattered I guess?

American Girl had a massive sale and I went a little nuts but look at how CUTE these outfits are! The stripey beach outfit- does this come in my size?

And the silk hair bonnet? The bunny slippers?

This is practically a replica of a real life Halloween costume Ireland wore before she could walk. I mean I had to get this one!

Yes Ireland had the Harry Potter school uniform but she didn't have the Quidditch kit and any good Ravenclaw would need that, right?

The roller skating outfit was on backorder so that took a few weeks to arrive. Are you kidding me? How adorable is that?

Me: If you owned a sports team, what would you call them?
Brent: *ponders*
Me: The Ledgers?
Sydney: The Cheapos

Trader Joe's roses always make me happy!

Love this cake pop from Starbucks!

Our trusty vacuum died. I mean really died. We took it to a Dyson shop and they confirmed it was dead dead. But they were having a sale! And they could give us a bit more of a discount. In a rare twist of fortune, Brent had just been paid his bonus so we happened to be flush with cash but he had one request- take a picture of the old vacuum. So here's the picture:

Love this!

Also this made me laugh.

Paying Gita to make lunches for everyone is one of the best decisions we have made! She writes cute notes like, "It's Tuesday! Let's guac and roll!"

The recital costumes started rolling in so I broke out the iron and steamer. Here's the difference between a costume that has been properly ironed and fluffed and one that has just been hand fluffed. One of my many talents is making the girl's costumes look their very best!

I'm a little concerned about Gita who apparently really likes crime?

Sick season. Me then Ireland.

Continuing to purge, I took a hard look at my wedding dress. It had not aged well, there were stains and none of my girls had any interest. There was also a tear in the veil (not sure when that happened!). My mom made it and she did her best but it wasn't couture or anything. I decided it was time to say goodbye and free up closet space.

Ever sentimental, Brent insisted a photo be taken before tossing. I had tons of photos from our wedding day when everything looked fresh so I told him I'd take a picture if he wore it. And he did. See the huge tear?

In Seminary, Liesel and Ireland were given an egg and some Hershey chocolate Nuggets to represent the plate and they were supposed to carry them everywhere with them so they could see how hard it was for Joseph Smith to protect them. This is the day after they received the assignment- the egg and "plates" had been left behind already.
And that's a wrap on January!
