After years and year and years of prepping girls for dance photos and recitals, this is kind of the last big one. Ireland is already out because of her knee. Liesel is graduating and Sydney has decided to take a break for at least a year.
She would complain all year long about how she didn't want to go because her teacher didn't like her and the other girls were mean. We'd tell her to thug it out until the recital was over. Then she'd emerge from the recital gushing about how great it was and how she was excited for next year. A few years of this and Brent and I just couldn't take it anymore. You know how you're supposed to flip a coin when you can't make a decision and when it's in the air, that's when you know what you really want? We flipped the coin for Sydney. Without dance in her life she can make a clearer decision on if she wants it in her life. Too bad too, because she was getting really good!

I'm so grateful I've been able to watch Liesel dance these many, many years. Seeing her on stage looking so beautiful and statuesque has been one of my greatest joys and this year was no different. I shed many tears during these last recitals and I felt the closing of a very big chapter in her life.
